LFO for NC

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is looking for teachers and students to take part in an extended pilot of LinguaFolio Online (LFO) for NC, an updated version of e-LinguaFolio. LFO for NC was built by the Title VI Language Resource Center at the University of Oregon, the Center for Applied Second Language Studies (CASLS), and is the online version for LinguaFolio for our state's language programs.

Note: LinguaFolio is also available for free in Word and PDF documents for those who want to use those versions on the classroom materials pages for ESL LinguaFolio and World Languages LinguaFolio.

If you and your students are interested in using LFO for NC, please complete and submit the application at http://bit.ly/LFOforNCapplication by Friday, September 28, 2018.

Note: The application deadline has been extended due to Hurricane Florence.

Teachers from districts and charter schools in the extended LFO for NC Pilot will receive FREE accounts for themselves and their students to use in the 2018-2019 school year and beyond.

Teachers selected for the pilot will need to:

  • Have completed LinguaFolio training, either previously or through a self-paced Canvas course that is part of this initiative;

  • Participate in 1 - 3 webinars, which will be conducted after school; and

  • Provide feedback throughout the pilot via emails, online surveys, virtual networking, and so on.

Pilot activities like training, webinars and feedback will be documented as contact hours towards a CEU for license renewal.

This application closes on Friday, September 28, 2018.

As part of the launch of LinguaFolio and the LFO for NC pilot, NCDPI will be hosting an Overview of LinguaFolio webinar on Monday, September 24, from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. Please submit this registration form to attend the webinar.

Note: This webinar has been rescheduled from its original date of September 13 due to Hurricane Florence.

Teachers who apply will be notified in early October about their status, and those selected for the LFO for NC Pilot will be provided details at that time.
